Paul,

Sad to say I was thinking since K6IB site has disappeared if you had a
missing or corrupted "irlpvaux" file I could send you a copy to
replace/repair yours if that was the case.

As Dave Cameron noted there seems to be issues with irlpvaux and the
newer Debian platform.

Since yours is a new virgin install on a Debian 10.5 my intended help
would not fix your issue.

Maybe someone else has overcome the problem and will chime in.

Paul,
Sorry for being slow with my reply. Was gone all day.

Reading on some further comments by Cameron on the Internet I need to
ask are you installing on a new Debian built IRLP node.

Dave Cameron modified that version of IRLPvcon to work with Debian. The
older version and it have differences.

So what type (version) of IRLP node are you running.

My comment was based on the older unmodified irlpvcon and the additional
install of irlpvaux. From what it looks like I'm not sure Dave Cameron
uses the irlpvaux portion.

You might comment on where you got that download.

Perhaps if Dave C see's your post he might comment about whether or not
irlpvaux is even on his site.

I jumped back to your first post as I believe you are on the wrong track.

First off did you actually install the IRLPvcon and IRLPvaux programs (2
different sections to get both features) with the installer?

If so you should have the file "irlpvaux" in your /irlp/custom
directory. listed as -irlpvaux - size 10779 - owned by repeater/repeater.

"irlpvaux" will be looking for the audio for its different announcement
function in /irlp/audio/custom/irlpaux-audio/ directory

If you have that directory with the audio files installed but missing
the "irlpvaux"
I could send you a copy as it appears K6IB web site is not functioning.

Then the instructions I provided earlier for the chown command are accurate. The file the script is looking for, does not exist. Thus the error message you are getting.

Like i said, I have no idea how it is supposed to be set up. You should reach out to whoever wrote that program.

Line 15 in your /home/irlp/custom/custom_decode config file points to a directory that cannot be found. This has nothing to do with permissions. The directory is actually not there (prove me wrong). The directory that it's looking for is /home/irlp/custom/irlpvaux/ (show us line 15?). So change line 15 to point to the correct directory... which appears to be /home/irlp/audio/custom/irlpvaux_audio/. Or at the very least, show us the contents of /home/irlp/custom/ so more help can be given.

just don’t know how to change the directory and subs to “Repeater” chown exclusivity.

What utility are you using for these screenshots? There no support for any kind of GUI on an IRLP node. If you are using an external program of some type, you may not be able to change ownership remotely. I am assuming you are logged in to the command line directly, either local access or using SSH (arguably better).

To change ownership of a directory and all of its contents, logged in as root and located in the parent directory, the command would be ‘chown -R repeater.repeater irlpvaux_audio'

However that has nothing to do with error message you are getting. In your custom_decode error, the machine is looking for a file inside the custom directory, “irlpvaux” and not finding it.

I know nothing about irlpvaux though, because I don’t use it. But the generic method to change file ownership is the ‘chown’ command. You can get all the details on how to use it with the command ‘man chown’

Re: 'security key not valid' error

John

Do you see this 'invalid security key' error when you run that script that calls 9075, from the node's console?
What report, if any, happens when you call ref9057 manually?
Is this a one of event?
Just some thoughts from left field..

It sounds like you have already found and run the 'troubleshoot-irlp' command. Couple of other things to check. Make sure you are not on low disk space. Check with ‘df -h’
Verify the clock is reasonably close, the command for that is ‘date’ You could also reboot the machine and see if that clears anything.
